Beloved little sister

Happy feast of the Baby Jesus, which lasts the whole week of Christmas! And it can even last a lifetime if we are willing to stay with our Emmanuel (“God with us!”), admiring and imitating His divine virtues of simplicity and immolated and trusting love. And then there’s His charity to poor men who do not know Him or who offend Him, which will bring Him to the point of dying for us!

Since my last retreat, I have been particularly keen to study and practice fraternal charity as best I can and I find it a source of peace.

How are you, beloved little sister? Tell us. And it won’t be long before we’ll be chatting in heaven!

The war is most upsetting! And we don’t understand it! There again, it is self-surrender that saves us and the remembrance that God in His goodness wants nothing but our happiness and the eternal redemption of souls. I also reassure myself by saying to Him, “Thy kingdom come!” And I add, “By whatever means!”

Little Sr M. of the Incarnation will come back in the first few days of January. And “Godmother”1, who is so kind, so good and so resigned to God’s will in every way, will be delighted at this news and rewarded in her frailty.

From your little sister and mamma, who loves and cherishes you so much!
