Anteroom to Thérèse’s cell

Anteroom to her last cell where Thérèse received her novices. She placed there the statue of the Virgin of the smile when it arrived from the Buissonets. It is in front of this statue that she pronounced with Céline the act of offering on June 11th, 1895. It is here also that she knelt, before beginning to write Manuscript A as she tells in the beginningof her text

In this photo taken after the death of Thérèse, the statue is decorated for a feast day. This is where little Thérèse placed it. In the little anteroom of her cell (we can see it behind the half opened door), Thérèse received the novices to hear them and give advice.
