From Mother Agnes of Jesus to sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) - April 11, 1937

                                                                                                        11th April 1937

Happy feast day, beloved little sister and “Léonie” of old.

Today is also the feast of the Good Shepherd, the second feast day of the Carmelite Mother Prioress. I was beautifully sung to this morning in beloved “Marie’s” infirmary. I sat beside her with a crook decorated in flowers. She was in her wheelchair and smiling. So you see she’s better. She was driven around the cloisters and she saw the basilica from afar. Her wheelchair is very useful. However she must sacrifice coming to the refectory, and I cannot imagine our “godmother” ever recovering.

She is taken Holy Communion every morning. She is still very edifying, patient and as gentle as a lamb.

She wants me to remind you of her love for you. All three of us send you a kiss and our very deep affection. Oh, our family ties are so strong and true!
