Beloved little sister,

I have come to sing the praises of the Spirit of Love with you. Our Office on this day of Pentecost is most beautiful! We sing the entirety of Matins and Lauds. Although it is a bit tiring, it is restful for the soul!

Our “Marie” came to Vespers yesterday and today in her wheelchair. She could go on living on earth for a quite a while yet, if no problems arise, but she is even frailer now and sometimes I catch myself wishing that she would leave this poor exile because it’s a veritable purgatory for her! On the other hand she still has a lovely sweet smile. She’s an angel of virtue, that eldest sister of ours. She wants me to remind you how much she loves you even though you know already. She also wants to write you a short note next time.

Sometimes her words are very striking and penetrating. She said to me the other day, “Telling God over and over again that we love Him is enough to fill a day.”

Sr Geneviève must have given you the news, beloved little sister, and the Annals keep you updated with everything. More great things are in the making! I would heartily rejoice if the programme didn’t include visits and entrances to the monastery!!

I am not at all generous. I like my peace and quiet.

Goodbye in Jesus, beloved little sister. My heart often travels to see you. Its plane is small and makes no sound but flies all the quicker for it.

I send you love on behalf of our beloved Sr Marie of the S.H. and myself.

Your old little sister

Sr Agnes of Jesus
