Laundry room

Place where the converse sisters washed the linen. The linen was soaped and washed in these stone basins, then placed in a boiler (lessiveuse), a big iron container placed on a little burner to heat the water. The washing was then transported for rinsing in the wash house that we can see through the open door. The basins and boiler emptied out underneath, thus the use of clogs for washing in order to not get the alpargates wet.
