Dear little Sister Thérèse,

What joy your letter gave me!... I cannot thank God enough for all the graces He is bestowing on you.

Céline has told us in minutest details about the beautiful celebration of April 6. How our little Mother in heaven must have rejoiced on that day!. .. And Aunt of Le Mans, with what love her eyes were fixed on you!

I am very happy my Mother Teresa has become your mother; it seems to me that this is a link uniting us together even more closely.

I cannot, dear little Sister, tell you all I would like, my heart cannot translate these intimate feelings in the cold language of this earth . . . . But one day in heaven, in our beautiful homeland, I shall look at you and in my look you will see all I would like to say to you, for silence is the language of the blessed inhabitants of heaven! . . .

In the meanwhile, we must merit the homeland of heaven… We must suffer, we must fight…Oh! I beg you, pray for your little Thérèse that she may profit by the exile of earth and by the abundant means she has for meriting heaven.

Celine has informed us of the results of your elections. I suffered when seeing you being deprived of a Mother whom you loved, but I was consoled when thinking that the one replacing her is truly worthy of her predecessor, and I am very sure that you now have to guide you to Jesus two Mothers, who merit this sweet name.

I leave you, dear little Sister, without ever being far from you in my heart, and I beg you to remember me respectfully to your good Mothers.

Sister Thérèse of the Child Jesus of the Holy Face rel. carm. ind.
