(...) As for the news of the little Queen, it is not satisfying. Only we ask all of you there not to say anything to Léonie, it would ruin her trip and also your own. For her stomach, seeing that milk didn’t do her any good, Dr. de Cornière prescribed formula milk. It’s absolutely awful to drink, but it stayed down, and since then, she has been able to digest normal milk. However, yesterday morning, she took to coughing up, or rather throwing up, blood. This lasted all day. Dr de Cornière said it’s not a good sign, but that it would worry him less if she wasn’t so weak. He believed it was only incidental; however, this morning it started again, after her having had a very high temperature all night. The doctor says that it’s due to little congestions she has in her side. This worries us greatly. (...)
