J.M.J.T.

Dear little Father,

How good you are, then, to your little Queen; almost no day passes that she does not receive some present from her King.

Thanks for everything, good little Father. If you only knew how much the little Orpheline de la Bérésina loves you! But, no, you will know this only in heaven. It is there that we shall see beautiful Estatues on beautiful Cornichons, and we shall then really be able to enter into Extasaison, and then what a guide we will have for visiting heaven's marvels!... I think that very many of the saints will have a Byzantine Cross in their halo. There will no longer be any sarcophaguses for us to see, for in heaven there will no longer be any tombs.

Dear little Father, I see the hour is going by, and I must leave you, but beforehand I kiss you from a distance with my whole heart.

The bright little pearl kisses you. Oh! Papa, if you only knew how precious is your bright little pearl....

The brilliant Diamond, the gypsy, kisses you, too, with her whole heart.

Adieu, and thanks, little Father.

Your little Queen, who is at last pulled from under the cart.
