Dear little Sisters,

This morning again, Papa had an extremely violent attack while I was at Mass; they came to get me. This attack was no longer a Paralytic attack like the last one, it was a heart attack.

Uncle told me that Papa had a very pronounced heart ailment which will carry him off, and he considers his condition as very serious, although it no longer appears so this evening. Two hours after the attack, one would never have said that Papa had been so sick, and when I had left for Mass, he was doing very well. It happens all of a sudden.

It appears that dear little Father turned blue and that his heart was no longer beating; Uncle believed that I was going to get back too late. It was only a question of the time of the trip; running it I could find him either cured or dead. God willed that I was not deprived of assisting him in his last moments; help me, dear little Sisters, to thank Him for this! Oh! pray for both of us, Papa and myself!... My heart is constantly upset. However, Papa is doing well this evening. He is resting.

I kiss you, Celine

P.S. I do not know when I shall see you again; I do not dare go out. Léonie writes me that she is suffering from her eczema on her head, caused by the headdress worn night and day; I am worried about her.
