From Marie of the Sacred Heart to Thérèse.
November 20, 1887
My little darlings, I don't have time to write you. Your letters pleased us very much. Let little Thérèse never grow weary of being the ball of the Child Jesus. It will be so good one day to roll into heaven, we shall be so well-off there! But, in the meanwhile, we must, in order to merit it, stumble a little on the stones in the stony paths on earth. Let the little ball not be deflated. This would make little Jesus, who loves it so much, cry.
