Beloved little sister,

I’m on my great retreat, which means I have more time to think and pray for you. I hear you are sick, but less so than a few years ago. However at our age, there may be complications and we can always hope that our Spouse is at our door. Oh, how happy you’d be, dear little sister, if the time had come for you to take flight! You would fly straight to heaven, faster than an arrow flying through the air. Could dear little Thérèse refuse to prepare your soul for this? It’s impossible. But do not get your hopes up, because it might end in disappointment like last time. Still, the day will come when we won’t miss the train, and may the first of the four of us to arrive not forget the others.

I send you my love, darling little sister, and the very fondest of kisses.

Your little sister
