Dear little sister,

The chaplain forgot to give you the photographs and was sorry for it. Our Mother wants me to tell you that because you had this disappointment she’s going to let you keep them, so you won’t have the bother of sending them back to us. Only she doesn’t want them to leave the Community because if they got out, someone could photograph the statue and copy it. We have had so much trouble that we are being careful.

I am sad, little sister, to hear your nervous shivers have returned and I ask God to heal you. At our age, we have to expect lots of problems. I would certainly know! At least we are sure of being lavished with generosity and affection until the end. That is, of course, not why we chose religious life, but it is the hundredfold reward which Our Lord promised us. These words said by our little Visitandine brought us so much pleasure, “I can say, in all truth, that I am very happy in my vocation.”

Darling little sister, be more and more happy, because by recognising His blessings, you praise the Lord.

I’ll leave you by sending you fond kisses

Your eldest sister

Sr Marie of the Sacred Heart

Our beloved Mother still has a bit of a sore neck. With some massages we’ll be able, I hope, to cure her.
