Happy and holy feast day, darling little sister. You were with us on the 21st, as you always are . . . for there is no distance between our souls and in a second, they can fly where they please. That is why our Thérèse can fly to wherever she is called and make God loved, make Him known, and make Him reign in spite of His enemies. He will always have the last word and even though people may wish to snatch Him from children’s hearts, His saints in heaven and on earth do battle for Him.

Our little sacrifices carry much more weight in the balance of His mercy than we can imagine. Did our Lord not say to Bl. Margaret Mary, “A righteous soul has so much power over my Heart that it can obtain forgiveness for a thousand criminals”?

Dear little sister, what can I tell you with regard to our beloved Mother’s feast day? It was a day of great celebration in heaven and also on earth . . . for we are growing older and we have few years left to contemplate it. But it will be followed for every one of us by the eternal feast. What hope this inspires!

I send you fond kisses, darling little sister. I shall take Holy Communion for you on Tuesday, asking Jesus to shower you with graces.

Your eldest sister

Sr Marie of the Sacred Heart
