From Sister Marie-Dosithée to her brother Isidore

V + J (Live Jesus)

From our Monastery in Le Mans,

11th February 1868,

Dear Brother,

You are going to be surprised to receive another letter from Le Mans today; but this time, it is to ask you to do an act of charity that will bring you happiness. This is what it is about: Our Rev. Mother’s Assistant, who is entirely devoted to the missions and whom we call for that reason mother of missionaries, thought that you might like to send her for ten francs some quinine at cost price; be good enough to send it in the post straight away, and in my next letter I will send you 10 frs in postage stamps. The quinine is for a poor missionary who lives in a very feverous country and he asked for it some time ago saying it was what he needed the most

Again I send you my love dear friend as well as to my sister-in-law and I look forward every day for news of the little new-born child (Jeanne would be born on the 24th February)

Your affectionate Sister

Sr. Marie Dosithée Guérin

Of the Von, Holy Mary
