LT 28 - To Fr. Pichon - October 23 (?), 1887
October 23 (?), 1887 Reverend Father, I thought that since you were attending to my sisters, you would be willing to take the last one also. I would like to be able to make myself known to you, but I am not like my sisters. I don't know how to express in a letter all I am feeling. 1 believe, Father, that, in spite of everything, you will understand me. When you come to Lisieux, I hope I will be able to see you at Carmel in order to open my heart to you. Father, God has just granted me a great grace. For a long time I have wanted to enter Carmel, and I believe the moment has arrived. Papa is willing that I enter at Christmas. Oh, Father, how good Jesus is to take me so young. I don't know how to thank Him. Uncle thinks me very young, but yesterday he told me he wanted to do God's will. Father, I come to beg you to pray for your last child. I just returned from the Carmel. My sisters told me that I could write you to tell you simply what was taking place in my heart. You see, Father, that I did this, hoping you would not refuse to accept me as your little daughter. Bless your second Lamb.
Thérèse
