April-May 1897

I fear Mother will not be pleased, she values the massages very much, especially on my back. If M. Clodion comes on Sunday to shake his long hair over my back, he will wonder why we have not done what he had said.... Perhaps it would be better to wait until Monday; however, Pauvre, Pauvre, do as you like; all will be ready tomorrow. Above all, do not speak to this Pauvre Monsieur, do what seems good to you and remember we must be rich, very rich, both of us!...
