LT 90 - To Céline - April 27 (?), 1889

LT 90                     From Thérèse to Céline.

April 27 (?), 1889

For April 28

Once again, I want to wish my dear Céline a Happy Birthday, and I am sending her a little bouquet from little Jesus. He thanks her for all the beautiful flowers that she has given to Him. Alas! these flowers are not bright, for Carmel's little Jesus is poor; however, in heaven, He will show us His riches, and I know well the one to whom He will give these riches ....

Tomorrow, I shall receive my Jesus! Oh! how I'll speak to Him about my Céline, about that other myself. I'll have many things to tell Him, but it will not be difficult for me because a single sigh will tell Him all.

What scribbling this is! But I went so fast that you will have to excuse me. I'd like my heart and all that it holds for you to be known to you; however, there are things that cannot be written and that the heart alone understands.

(The bouquet from Jesus spent a few hours before Him in a vase even poorer than He is!... )

Dear Céline, one day we shall go to heaven forever, and then there will no longer be day or night as there is on earth            Oh! what a joy. Let us walk in peace, looking at heaven, the only goal of our works. The hour of rest is approaching. Kiss Léonie for me whom I love so much. I am not forgetting the day of her twenty- five years. Since I've been in Carmel I have a good memory for dates.

See you soon, Céline, immortelle of Jesus .... I love you more than I can say.

Your little sister,

Thérèse of the Child Jesus
