Jesus!                                              Carmel, November 18, '89

My dear little Aunt,

How time flies .... It is already two years ago since I sent you greetings for your feast, and still it seems like it was only yesterday.

Many things have happened during these two years, and God has granted me some great graces .... He has also visited us with His Cross, and, at the same time, He has revealed to us all the tenderness He has placed in our dear Aunt's heart ....

What memories there are for me in that date of November 19, and what a joy when I saw the moment arrive!. . . And it is always with the same joy that I come to repeat to my dear Aunt all the wishes I'm arranging for her; but I am mistaken, I'm not going to waste my time enumerating them, for I believe a whole volume would not be enough for me ....

If you only knew, dear little Aunt, how your little daughter is going to pray for you on the day of your feast. Alas! I am so imperfect that my poor prayers have, no doubt, no great value, but one of the privileges of beggars is that they can obtain what they desire on the strength of their importunity; I shall do as they do, and God will not be able to send me away with empty hands. .

Four o'clock is ringing, and I must leave you, dear little Aunt, but I assure you that my heart remains near you.

I beg you, dear little Aunt, to remember me to Madame Fournet, for I'm not forgetting that it is her feast. It goes without saying that I am kissing Uncle and my dear little sisters with my whole heart.

And for you, dear Aunt, I am sending the best kiss from the heart of the littlest of your seven little daughters.

Sister Thérèse of the Child Jesus
