From Mme Martin to Pauline

June 29, 1877

My dear Pauline,

I had told you I wouldn’t write you a letter when I sent you your little package, but I’m only sending it today, and I don’t know when you’ll receive it.

The Mass you wanted will be said tomorrow.

Don’t worry about me. I’m not worrying at all, and I’m putting everything in God’s hands. I’m longing to hear from you. Are you fully recovered from your fatigue?

I’m hoping and waiting for a good letter. I don’t have time to write any more, they’re taking mine this moment.

I kiss you with love.

Your mother.
