                  Dear parents.

I am writing you a little letter that will please you to say I’ve spent my week better and I haven’t any bad marks I won the rosette (award) and Pauline did too and I’ve made progress I’m no longer last in everything I’m 5th for bible history I will continue in order to please you dear mama. Miss Pauline Romet came to see us yesterday and she gave us some biscuits. Dear Mother and dear Father I am very much looking forward to New Year’s Day I’m excited as the day approaches, and so is Pauline.

Dear and good parents I send you all my love and Pauline does too [v°] I send my love to grandma (Mrs. Martin’s mother), Adolphe (Adolphe, then 25 years old, an orphan brought up by her grandmother Martin – Léonie’s godfather) and Louise (Louise Marais)
