PN 11
1 Virgin Mary, in spite of my weakness,
On the evening of this beautiful day I want to sing
A canticle of gratitude .
And my hope of being God's for ever.
Ah! for such a long time, so far from the holy ark,
My poor heart longed for Carmel.
I have found it, now no more fear.
Here I am tasting the first-fruits of Heaven!...
Refrain The time of tears has passed at last.
I have put back on the fleece of the flock.
A new horizon is opening for me.
Divine Mother, on this day so full of charms,
Oh! truly hide your little lamb
Under your mantle.
2 I am very young, and already suffering
And bitter trials have visited my heart.
Virgin Mary, my only hope,
You give happiness back to your lamb.
You give Carmel to me for family.
I am also the Sister of your children.
Dear Mother, I am becoming your daughter,
The fiancée of Jesus, my Savior.
3 Your Son's ineffable glance
Has deigned to lower itself to my poor soul.
I have searched for his adorable Face,
And in Him I want to hide myself.
I will always have to stay little
To be worthy of his glances,
But I'll grow quickly in virtue
Under the brightness of this star of Heaven.
4 Sweet Mary, I'm not afraid of work.
You know my good will.
I have faults, but courage too,
And my sisters' charity is great.
While awaiting the beautiful day of my nuptials,
I will imitate their sublime virtues;
For I sense that you give me the strength
To become the spouse of Jesus.
Last Refrain Deign to bless the Venerable Mothers
Whose goodness gave Carmel back to me.
Virgin Mary, may I see them seated
Near you on an immortal throne,
And may your maternal heart
Crown them in Heaven.
