From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three sisters in the Carmel - April 19, 1910

19th April 1910

Darling little sisters,

I’m hurriedly taking advantage of this opportunity to thank you for sending the circular, Shower of Roses, etc. Our beloved Mother is going to be able to do so much good with this fine reading material, and it’s going to make our little saint known. I was deeply moved reading “The Articles” which we received yesterday. It’s all very impressive. I was counting on Mgr de Teil to give me the report I wrote last time. It would help me enormously in my preparation for the many questions I shall be asked, but I can see that I’ll have to mourn my loss. Thank you, dearest sisters, for all your precious explanations.

Our Mother is showing me unparalleled devotion. It moves me to tears to have so much assistance. I would never manage things otherwise; I humbly recognise this. In any case, as long as I have enough character to love God with all my might, “living on nothing but love and humility is enough for me!”

Thérèse is working hard in my soul at the moment, on my humility. The more I see her rise in glory, the more I feel the need to become humble. I thirst to disappear and count as nothing. What a grace that would be!
