From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three sisters in the Carmel - October 7, 1912

7th October 1912

On 30th September, our little saint’s feast day, our Mother dressed the altar in the fore-choir in her honour. She was represented by a white rose in front of a picture of St Teresa. You can see how much our little sister is loved and venerated here. She visited me that day in the evening in the form of a sweet and pervasive scent of roses. Although it only lasted a few moments, it brought me great comfort, so much so that in my joy, I was compelled to say, “O beloved little sister, you’re here with me, I’m sure of it!” Since then, I’ve felt more fervent. The “insignificant little creature” wishes to become a saint too. Alas! Sometimes she rebels. She has trouble practicing being little and humble.

I’m thinking of going on retreat this month. Help me with your prayers, little sisters, I beg of you.
