From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three Carmelite sisters - July 1st 1928

1st July 1928

Darling little sisters,

It feels as though it has been a century since I last had news from you, so slowly does time seem to go by. It gives me an insatiable thirst for the eternal reunion. – It brought me such joy, dear eldest sister, to hear you had such a lovely celebration. You are revered and loved by everyone, so you certainly deserve it! What great glory you shall receive up above! I feel you are so dear to Jesus that He is keeping you hidden in His Heart, so when you leave exile, there’ll be no need “to go straight to heaven,” because you are already there . . . .

We held a recreation in your honour as promised, and I assure you it was very joyful. We were able to enjoy the garden; the weather was magnificent. Our dearest Mother had me sit at her table with her Council (I stood in for you). You can picture the little ant putting on a good front despite everything.

We are preparing to hold a celebration for our dear Mother on 8thand 9thAugust. – Farewell little sister. I send you my love and kisses.
