From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Sr Genevieve (Celine) - April 30th 1929

V + J! This 30th April 1929

Darling Céline, I was expecting your letter. I would have been disappointed not to have received anything from you, not because I expect thanks, as I merely did my humble duty and enjoyed doing so, but because knowing I’ve brought you pleasure gives me extreme satisfaction.

I knew you were going to fulfil my wish and send me The Spirit of St Thérèse. It’s the gift to mark your 60thbirthday. I like the picture very much.

Thank you to our dear eldest sister for her affectionate little note and the picture of the Good Shepherd. How sorry I am to hear she’s so frail! And yet I’m also comforted because, by the same token, she is “Jesus’ beloved”.

I’m looking forward to hearing about the Alençon festivities.

I send you kisses and I love all three of you, infinitely dear little sisters, with immense affection. On that point, you’ll never outdo me; I dare you to take the challenge.

Sr Françoise-Thérèse

And will the missionary celebrations take place in Lisieux this year?
