From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Sr Marie of the Sacred Heart – June 8th 1926

8th June 1926 Feast of the Sacred Heart

My darling eldest sister,

As always, I come to you on this great feast day with ever increasing affection, even though it’s not possible for it to grow any greater because, as you know, it reached its apogee long ago. Yet on special occasions we love to say such things.

You can be sure that you will have your traditional Communion from me. I also took one for you on 22nd May, the thirty-eighth anniversary of your Profession; the 23rd of your Veil Reception. I can still see Thérèse as a postulant, placing the crown of white roses upon your head. This sweet image will never fade from my memory or, more importantly, my heart . . . . Who would have thought that thirty eight years later, this fifteen year old child would be such a great saint, and raised to the altars. God’s works are most admirable and alone worthy of praise!
