From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to sr Marie of the Sacred Heart – February 12, 1928

12th February 1928

My darling eldest sister,

It is to you that I’m writing today because in ten days’ time you will be 68 years old and I want to convey all my daughterly and sisterly affection to you, not by wishing you another sixty-eight years in this earthly exile (that would be cruel) but by praying that Jesus will let you stay and edify us for many long years to come. I know that our Carmelite Sisters share my opinion, so, in the Communion I will take for you, I heartily join them in their prayers to our divine Spouse for this grace. He has to be pleased that you witness your golden anniversary, and this is our hearts’ ardent wish.

I’m very sorry, beloved sister, to hear that your rheumatism is trying you so, but your crown in heaven will only be more beautiful for it. This thought comforts and gladdens me.

The pictures of the miracles are most interesting. Thank you for sending them to us.

Goodbye until the joyful Easter Alleluia. In God, our unique and sovereign Treasure, I’ll always be with you, my darling little sisters.
