Sr Françoise-Thérèse Martin to her Uncle Mr Guérin

V + J! From our Monastery in Caen this 10th July 1907

Dearest Uncle,

Yesterday we received a letter from Marie of the Sacred Heart saying that the operation will take place tomorrow, Thursday. We are praying ardently. These are days of anguish no doubt, but if everything goes well as we have reason to believe it will, what joy we’ll feel at seeing our little patient well again. What’s more, she’s going to be ever so well cared for and well nursed, and above all, have so much help from heaven! What loving assistance she’ll receive; I admit that my trust outweighs my fear by far.

It pains me, dear Uncle, to hear you are alone for three long weeks. I fear you are not being well nursed. I hear Jesus say to me inwardly, “Entrust him to Me, I’ll take care of everything,” and I do so with all my heart.

We are united in prayer and sacrifice, are we not? And Jesus is our peace and comfort. His divine Heart doesn’t hold back with us, and this is an immense honour!

Your very loving little daughter

Sr Fse-Thérèse
