From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – January 18th 1904

Beloved little sister and Mother,

With immense joy I, too, come to throw myself into your arms on this your feast day. I wholeheartedly join your daughters, and I, the smallest, though no less loving, add my wishes to theirs. The feast days of cherished Mothers are such delightful family celebrations. We are also preparing our Mother’s celebration on the 19th.

I have yet more proof, darling little sister, that our Thérèse is spending her heaven doing good on earth: our new postulant, Sr Marguerite, couldn’t obtain her father’s consent to join this Visitation. She and her mother were very upset, so the dear lady, who knows the life of our little saint, began praying fervently to her, and on Christmas day the father gave his daughter his full consent. The young lady came here the very next day.

I, too, received a great grace from our little Thérèse. It was over two years ago, but I can remember it as though it was just yesterday.

I was at Matins and very distracted, (alas, unfortunately it’s not a rare occurrence!) when suddenly something luminescent came to rest on the prayer book, as quickly as lightening. Only afterwards did I fully realise that what I had seen was a hand. I immediately said, “It’s my little Thérèse, my second guardian angel, calling me to order.”

How many times I’ve desired to see this perfect hand again since, but I never have.

It wasn’t my imagination, I assure you, but reality.
