From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – May 27, 1928

27th May 1928

. . . . Your little note, accompanied by your delightful poem, went straight to my heart, darling little Mamma. I so love the feast of Pentecost; it’s the feast of love par excellence. “God is a consuming fire”. These words delight me and set me ablaze; at least, I will them to do so, because to tell you the truth my heart is frozen, feeling nothing but aversion, boredom and weariness. (1)

I wish a very happy and holy feast day to my little friends Sisters Marie of the Trinity and Marie of the Holy Spirit. I will take Communion for each of them. What an immense blessing daily Communion is! What would become of us without Jesus? . . . Life would be unbearable, and the best and most efficient preparation, it seems to me, is to take Communion, because Jesus, the God of all purity, prepares our hearts Himself to become His beloved tabernacle.

Many, many thanks for all the fascinating details relating to the celebration. I haven’t the time to tell you my thoughts.

In Jesus our Beloved, dearest little sisters, we’ll remain forever united . . . .

Your tiny little sister, Françoise-Thérèse.

1. But it does me so much good to be understood by you, darling sisters. Your advice helps me to say over and over, “Lord, You fill me with joy in all that You do.”
