From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three sisters in the Carmel - April 17, 1933

17th April 1933

Dear little sisters,

Here we are reunited far from our Homeland once more. When will we at last leave this exile and go to contemplate the face of our risen Beloved? My wings are more and more restless. I can’t help it, despite being very resigned to stay on earth as long as God wishes. Above all, it is what He does that I love and I tell Him over and over that I need His own love to love Him. Only then do I find rest and patiently wait for the eternal reunion in the heavens.

Give me your news quickly. It’s the only thing that helps me bear exile. Second to my daily Communion, your letters bring me matchless reassurance. Like you, beloved little sisters, all that passes away hardly affects me anymore. Our souls are hungry for God, which is a grace that by far exceeds all others.
