From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – July 8, 1934

V + J! From our monastery in Caen this 8th July 1934

Darling little Mother,

I’m writing to you again for 14th July, as I haven’t forgotten the solemnity of your Reception of the Veil, or in other words, the completion of your Profession.

I have the fondest memories of that day. We all surrounded you with such immense love. I will relive it all again in the closeness of a heart to heart with our Beloved Jesus, because my Communion will be for you, darling Mamma. I wanted to tell you all this before we go to the blessed and eternal reunion in the true heavenly Homeland. How I long to be there!

We’re sending you all the hymns we sang for our revered Jubilarians. It’s only fair! Do we not share all our family celebrations with one another? Now we’re preparing for our beloved Mother’s feast day in August. She would like us to let it go unnoticed, but we are deaf in one ear. Our hearts are so deeply grateful that we absolutely refuse to listen.

And so, beloved little sisters, by going from sweet feast day to sweet feast day here below, we’ll reach the feasts in heaven. They will be infinitely more wonderful than those of exile, all of which pale in comparison.

Your little sister who cherishes you

Sr Françoise-Thérèse

P.S. - We had a visit from the Holy Prelate. I’ll tell you about it in my next letter. I haven’t the time today. I quickly send you all my love, my most darling little Mamma.
