V + J! From our Caen monastery this 26th December 1935

Beloved little sisters,

Like every year, we meet beside the manger where our beloved Jesus was born to exchange our New Year wishes. These wishes no longer really pertain to earth, where we live in exile and banality. - Darling Céline, your lovely painting is delightful. After Midnight Mass, we were overjoyed to find the pretty pious picture (a true vision of Paradise) at each of our places in the refectory. All of us thank you effusively.

Our dear Turn Sisters came back delighted with their pilgrimage in Lisieux, and particularly with their meeting with you. Our dear Sister Claire-Françoise was very keen to meet you, darling little Mamma. Thank you for the keepsake from the infirmary where our darling saint flew away to heaven.

We had a good talk with Canon Germain in the visiting room. He’s so pleasant! I took advantage of the opportunity to thank him for his unfailing devotion in matters concerning Thérèse, through whom, and even because of whom, God is infinitely glorified. I was also bold enough to ask him to make sure that the finer edition of the Annals on Thérèse are sent to our dear Mother from now on because the cheaper edition, I mean the “propaganda edition”, is sufficient for me because it contains all the news. I saw that the dear Canon understood me and shared my opinion. - I have just read your dear letters. Thank you for your wishes and ever increasing affection. Your tiny sister reciprocates with her heart overflowing with gratitude and love, a love that is drawn uniquely from the Heart of Jesus, who is our Everything and whom our Immaculate Mother so lovingly gives us.

Your little visitandine

Our dear sisters Marguerite-Agnes and Joseph-Marie send you their best wishes and sincere respects.
