From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Sr Genevieve (Celine) - February 24th 1936

V + J! From our Caen monastery this 24th February 1936

Darling Céline,

Your inseparable sister has come running to celebrate your ruby anniversary, because of course I will attend your golden anniversary from the balcony of heaven, if God, as I hope, has mercy on me. Dear little sister, after having spent 40 years in the wilderness without seeing your Beloved, you are drawing near the Promised Land, where you will bask in His presence for eternity. Don’t you dare leave exile before me. You’re the youngest of the four of us, and consequently you should fly away last.

Beloved little sister, I was hoping to send you all my sisterly affection in time for the 24ththrough Mrs Lecourt because she is coming on Monday, but alas! Regrettably, I’ll have missed the action.

I can’t give you a better gift than Jesus. Is He not our unique treasure? So you can count on having a Communion from your Léonie, who loves you so very dearly

Sr Françoise-Thérèse

Darling Céline, this Christ is really beautiful. We are both delighted with it. Thank you for always spoiling us like this and sharing all your treasures. Is this statue yours?

With love and kisses from the bottom of my old heart, though it is the only thing that has remained young; you three are extremely dear to me.
