From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – after September 18th 1936

V + J! (after 18th Sept. 1936?)

It was with joy that we immediately replied to your invitation, darling little Mamma. Together with Lourdes and the dear Carmel, we celebrated and sung praises to our darling saint at eight o’clock on the evening of the 18th. It was delightful and touching to see us all grouped around the statue of our sweet little queen. She was lit up by two electric lamps from the community room, and to crown her beauty, the first crescent of a new moon brightly shone over her head.

Was it you, darling Mamma, who composed the delightful hymn? We recognised your hand in it. Was it sung at Lourdes? It was, wasn’t it? Anyway, we are delighted that this heavenly day was concluded in our little Visitation, closely united to our dearest and most beloved Carmel.

I wanted to tell you this before my retreat because it will surely please you, my increasingly beloved little sisters.

With fond kisses,

Sr Françoise-Thérèse

Your dear letter and the pious pictures accompanying it brought me immense joy. Thank you!!

In our deep solitude, which, alas, we will soon have to leave, we are writing to thank you, Reverend Mother, for kindly thinking to unite our two families on the evening of 18th September. We glorified your beloved sister, to whose prayers we beseech you to recommend the very poor Mother of the Visitation of Caen

Sister Marie-Thérèse de Colomby

of the Visitation of Holy Mary
