From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – August 8th 1937

V + J! From our Caen monastery this 8th August 1937

Darling little Mamma,

We think it wiser to send the letter we received yesterday from the Abbey of Lisieux to you, so that you might reply or have someone reply to it as soon as possible. It seems we have every reason to mistrust the growing number of indiscreet writers who distort the moral physiognomy of our darling saint.

What’s more, I’ve never seen the lady in question.

Beloved little Mother, you didn’t answer my question regarding the young Irish lady, the friend of Mrs Duval who lives in Rue au Char, Lisieux. The kind lady sent us a whole heap of treats. She would like to see me this month. Should I meet her?

Have you recovered from all the tiredness and worries of the Congress? Truly, God was glorified and loved as never before.

With love to you and our two little sisters, for my darling Trio is the source of all my joy

Sr Françoise-Thérèse
