From Sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three Carmelite sisters - September 28th 1937

V + J! From our Caen monastery this 28th September 1937

Beloved little sisters,

I’m going on retreat tomorrow evening. It’s imperative that all four of us are united to celebrate our darling saint’s day. I was expecting your letters, for I would have sorely missed them on this memorable day had they not come. Thank you for your customary generosity that allows us to prolong the celebration in the refectory.

The rose petal holding the charming bell is simply delightful! Delightful!

Darling little Mother, your immense generosity compels me to ask a great favour of you. Our very kind and very pious confessor Rev. Fr Exupère, Guardian of Sainte Paix, ardently desires a precious relic of our saint, for he loves and appreciates her enormously. For example, it could be a little ball of her precious bone dust. That’s a 1st class relic, which is exactly what he would like and would be very happy to have. That’s a yes, isn’t it, little Mother? And would you send it to us when you have the opportunity? Our dearest Mother could ask for no better than to offer it to him on your behalf.

I recommend myself to your prayers, and to those of our dear sisters who are still on retreat. I remain, darling sisters, your very loving and very grateful little sister,

Sr Françoise-Thérèse
