From sr Francoise-Therese (Leonie) to her three sisters in the Carmel - September 25, 1938

V + J! From our Caen monastery this 25th September 1938

Increasingly beloved little sisters,

What an ineffable union will bind us on the 30th, the feast day of our little Queen and the centenary of your matchless and most favoured Carmel. We hope a shower of heavenly roses will help bring world peace. Let us offer prayers and constant sacrifices, for these are our weapons, and they are infinitely more powerful than all human war machines, because God our Father, our almighty Saviour and His most Holy Mother are with us. What do we have to fear?

Our dearest Mother wants to write to you. There are just two more days of her retreat left. We are preparing for our solitary retreats, which begin on the 29th. We recommend them to your fervent prayers.

Darling little sisters, as you offer us calendars each Christmas, which we greatly appreciate, would you add a few almanacs, as well? Our dear Mother so loves making people happy.

I haven’t received any of Jeanne’s belongings. The keepsakes of our holy Visitandine aunt, particularly her crucifix, amply suffice me.

I send you my love, beloved little sisters. I’ll write again after my retreat, but we are never apart, as you know.

Sr Françoise-Thérèse
