From sr Genevieve (Celine) to Mother Agnes of Jesus – May 7, 1907

7th May 07               Darling little Mother,

I wish you a happy birthday. Tomorrow morning, my poor little heart will be filled with joy as I celebrate my two treasures. Little Mother, pray for me, too. You know how much I need it. You know how wretched I am, or rather, you don’t know, because I’m much more so than you think. But I’m not going to despair. Ever since you painted me such a pretty picture of little children entering heaven, I’ve been regaining hope, and if ever I’m not little enough to go through the door standing, seeing as I’m always on the floor, I’ll go through it anyway, but on all fours. That’s what I’m hoping. Once on the other side of the door, I’ll stand up, never again to fall. Spare a kiss for your little mouse, Geneviève of St Teresa
