Darling little sister,

I’m taking advantage of Violette Castel’s trip to say a little hello, because we don’t want her to go without taking you a message. That’s how much we love you!

Little sister, I’m preparing a surprise for you. I’m enlarging the little group photo showing all three of us with you, but it’s on the condition that you send us back the last two photographs we sent - the one where I’m painting and the one at the foot of the Angel - because there’s something I want to change in them.

Darling little Léonie, how I’d love to be able to write to you more often! But I have enough work for two or even ten people, and no one can help me.

You see, our Mother has amended the poem about “Spiritual Childhood” by adding some lines to make it more complete, while I’m touching up the drawings. It’s a painstaking task making Our Lord correspond to my ideal in all of them, by making sure His clothes are well-finished etc, but it’s worth the trouble. I don’t think we can do any better, because we need to convey the “Little Way” to everyone, whether young, old, scholarly or uneducated. Treatises would be nothing but “gibberish”, because simple things must be treated simply, so that they can be understood at a glance, and the more we want to communicate, the less we’ll really say.

Darling little sister, the bell is about to ring. I just have time to send you a kiss and remind you of how much I love you.

Your little sister

Geneviève of St Teresa u.c.n.
