Dear little sister,

I thought of you yesterday, the Feast of the Visitation, and I asked God to shower you with graces.

The grace He has given me is to carve out a very busy life for myself. Pray that it will benefit me because it would be a shame to have gone to so much trouble and not gain from it, by which I mean not please Him and not save souls. And yet I sometimes fail in this respect because I’m not always in a rosy mood, but God fixes all my mistakes, I hope!

Last week, Rev. Fr Marie-Bernard came to bring us the little model of the “holy body” to go on the shrine. Just this little glimpse of it was delightful. The things that this priest makes are truly heavenly. The head and hands will be in wax, as will the feet. The body has been designed so that we can place the bones in padded compartments reserved for this usage. He has been copying my painting of Thérèse in death, without the angels, of course.

He is also going to design the shrine. Then he will sculpt us all kinds of statues. Mgr Lemonnier knows about this and has appointed him as sculptor. His Superiors and even the Trappist General are pleased to be responsible for looking after our little Thérèse. But the priest would need five pairs of hands to complete all the things that he has to do, especially as he can’t miss certain community activities. He is always in demand, like all those who are good at everything. Don’t forget to pray for him. He’s a very worthwhile cause.

There goes the Angelus bell. Goodbye darling little sister. I send all my love. Your little Céline
