Darling little sister,

For the 30th, I’m sending you the rotogravure of my Crucifix, which our Mother has permitted me to print. I think it’s very good. I think you’ll be pleased.

There will also be some little funeral pictures accompanying the prayer, “O sweet and gentle Jesus…” Pray that the picture might do some good. I’d so like for God to use it as a means to touch souls. I put so much love into painting it.

There will no doubt be some anatomical faults in it despite the precautions I took and, in this respect, connoisseurs will notice the inept hand. But I thought that this didn’t matter and wouldn’t stand in the way of God’s Heavenly Host. Will you tell me whether people like it?

Did you know that, on 29th September, Marie-François de Sales at the Abbey will celebrate her golden anniversary? As a keepsake, we’re giving the Abbey the table set that our little saint used when she was a pupil there. It will bring her glory and enrich the pilgrimage experience, because the Abbey is one of the places that pilgrims visit and the nuns have a whole exhibition in the old chapel where the Children of Mary used to meet. You can see it through a grate.

Our venerable Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the Immaculate Conception and St Scholastica celebrated their golden anniversaries a few months or years ago. The latter is still Portress.

I only meant to write two lines and I’ve carried on for 4 pages. I’ve scribbled hurriedly because I have very little time.

I send you all my love, darling Sister. Your little Céline
