Darling little sister,

I’m not going to write much, because I’m on retreat, but our Mother has allowed me to bid you farewell before Lent.

I can’t stop meditating on this passage from last Sunday’s Gospel reading: “The seeds thatfellon thegood soilrepresent honest,good-hearted people, who hear God’s word, cling to it, andpatientlyproduce a huge harvest.”

Without a doubt, with God’s grace, I am this good soil, but alas! I often hoard the seeds that should germinate because, as I lack patience in trials and tribulations, the fruit dies. And since I want to give Jesus a great deal of fruit, and as we can do so only through patience, I will strive not to waste any of the many opportunities that crop up. And I mustn’t complain because without them, the seed would be barren.

Jesus shows me ways to acquire patience, and I will try and take advantage of one of them, that is, reveal only feelings that I would like to have and not those that I do have, because they are always imperfect and revealing them weakens me. It’s a fine resolution; pray that I might keep it, darling little sister.

I send you all my love and kisses.

Your little sister,

Sr Geneviève of the Holy Face

Mr Dauphin is going to sell us the Gervais’ garden and we’re going to be able to follow his Lordship’s advice: “separate the house from Les Buissonnets.”

Friday 24th is the 25th anniversary of my Profession. Joséphine Doléans, Mother St Elisabeth, is dying in the general hospital.
