Darling little sister,

I’m writing you a quick note to thank you for the little letter you sent me. Your kindness touched me deeply and the little forget-me-not tells me how fond my Léonie is of her Céline. Dear little sister, God gave you such a good heart!

I also want to thank you on behalf of all of us for the lovely Easter egg you sent us. Imagine our Mother’s surprise when she lifted the egg shell! We could tell there was a surprise underneath, but what? And then we were showered with roses!!! It was so imaginative and delightful; you showed us a thing or two.

I recommend Jean Lahaye to your prayers; she is getting married today in Paris. He has a job in a bank or a Société Générale. He is not marrying well either in terms of his position of religion, far from it. His father didn’t want to go to the wedding. Poor Jean! You could say he has turned out badly. His sisters are convinced that he missed his vocation. – Pierre got married, a month ago, to Berthe Delafosse’s daughter, Henriette Aubré. She is wealthy and pious. He’s a chemist in Paris.

Marie Lahaye, the youngest, got married near Besançon and has a little girl. So that’s that family married off. We knew them so well. Oh, God has given us so many graces by calling us to His service. We can never praise Him enough.

As you can see, darling little sister, my short note has become rather long. And I add my affection for you,

Sr Geneviève of the Holy Face u.c.n.

I’m sending you a large photo of my crucifix picture. I sent one to Fr Roulland and he’s very enthusiastic about it, as is the Abbey, and also Canon Deslandes, who would like us to circulate it. I praise God for this and beg Him to bless it more and more.

I won’t forget 3rd June, either. I remember all the important dates related to my darling Léonie.

Do pray for Mgr de Teil. He had a paralytic attack a few days ago. He’s going to be given Extreme Unction. We are very concerned about him.
