Little Léonie, darling, I’ve just learnt that Sr Marie of the S. Heart is writing to you and I don’t want to let her letter go without sending you a little note to wish you a happy birthday. On 5th June I will take Holy Communion for you, dearly beloved sister.

In the little free time that we have, we have been putting the family correspondence in order. We’ve come across a handwritten note from our Aunt from Le Mans which you’ll like. It’s dated the very day I was born.

As I’m also putting the “keepsakes” in order, I’ve been wondering which crucifix you gave Thérèse. She wore it on her belt during her 1st Communion retreat. Do you have it? What became of it?

Do you remember in which month in 1888 we went to live in Auteuil in Paris?

What a lot of things I’d ask you if you were here, darling sister, because you had a very good memory.

I’ll leave you now, because I’m holding up the post. I love you and send you a heartfelt kiss.

Your little Céline
