Darling little sister,

What a joy it is for me to celebrate the 25th anniversary of your Profession, because I followed all your trials step by step. O little sister, what a grace it is to have spent 25 years in the Lord’s Service! I sometimes think that if God hadn’t chosen this vocation for me and hadn’t had me follow it, left to my own devices I would have followed another, and I would never have forgiven myself. So I often express my unreserved thanks to Him for everything He has done for me.

And the same goes for you, little Léonie. You could very easily have grown tired of your fruitless attempts and gone with the flow, and have been drawn elsewhere. But you didn’t; we all belong to Jesus. He took the whole nest and showed no preferences, or rather, even if He did show a preference and honoured one little bird, the others are called to the same sainthood and to the same vocation. They are called to fly in the wake of their holy little sister. And what a lot of souls will fly with them along the path that she traced in the skies!

The 2nd will therefore be a day of thanksgiving. My Communion will be for you to thank God for the graces He has given you and our whole family.

I’m sending you a picture that I was given. It isn’t very pretty. I haven’t signed it so you can offer it to someone else. I wanted to find something that you didn’t have. Alas, I don’t have anything!

What I would have liked to have given you is the statue. We’ve tried and tried to hurry things along, to no avail. The manufacturer has promised to deliver it by the end of July so you’ll have it in time for 15th August. I hope you won’t be disappointed with this date and that it will be mounted in the pretty spot among the roses. Poor little sister, how I’ve suffered not being able to speed up the delivery!

Our celebrations are fast approaching. We wish they were over, but they will pass like everything else, and it’s essential we mark the great event that is the Canonisation of our little Sister.

Do you know what benefits and obligations there are for faithful who enter a specific consecrated church? We have no idea. Perhaps we can find out somehow.

I send you my love, darling little sister, and a hug. Your little Céline
