Dear little Léonie,

Lent is upon us once more, requiring us to say farewell again. This will be the 32nd Lent that I’ll have seen at the Carmel. On Thursday 24th, the anniversary of my Profession, I will go on my great retreat. I recommend it to your prayers!! Perhaps this one will be my last. I hope so every year. One year, it will have to be true!

In the meantime, I’m still living my life as God meant it to be, that is to say it’s very busy.

You no doubt know that we’re building a new Turn Office, as the other was partly destroyed to build the reliquary chapel.

The new office, which is on the roadside, runs along the awful path that edged the Community building when you knew it and goes up to the brick house where a certain Mr Philippe and several tenants live. (This house is where our helpers, the Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel, are staying). Opposite is the Chaplain’s house and “bishopric”.

The pilgrimage centre is gradually getting organised. Our plans are currently going through a period of setbacks and delays. God knows this, so all we have to do is endure it and wait until His time comes.

It has been several months since Jeanne last came to see us. She no longer goes out and fears losing her eyesight. Suffering is always knocking on doors, but it serves as a message from God. It is up to us to make sure it does great good where it stops.

Goodbye, darling little sister. As long as our souls remain in their cocoon, they are well swaddled and often they don’t say a word. Fortunately God always hears me and also my little Léonie!

The office isn’t on the path because it borders the street, but the path is currently within our enclosure. It had to be this way so that our Turn Sisters could access it.
