Dear little sister,

This is just a quick line to wish you a happy feast day and tell you that I shall take Communion for you on the 29th, and that my fondest thoughts will be with you.

I slightly regret my long last letter. I wrote it too quickly, without rereading it, as I was holding up the post. I fear that the way I expressed myself led you into thinking that I considered my small promotion to the council as my due. Alas, I don’t! And I’m most unworthy of it, to the point that I feel uncomfortable, because two or 3 senior Sisters deserved it more than I did. What I wanted to say was that it comes in very useful and makes my task easier. I often find it to be the case.

Goodbye, darling little sister. Pray for your sister; I love you so much. I was delighted to hear about the fine celebration held for the queen of the day.

Your little sister

Sr Geneviève of the Holy Face and St Teresa
