Beloved little sister,

I’m writing on Christmas Day. Our joyful reunion has been made even more joyful this year on account of your “narrowly missed car accident”. Death, it’s true, came at your fragile car at full tilt, and we are wondering how nothing happened. We are very happy to have come away with nothing but a fright. As for you, you are disappointed, but have patience; your turn will come one day!

I’m not going to write much. My little gift will replace a long letter and you’ll prefer it. On one of the photos, you’ll see our eldest sister at her infirmary door. All these photos are private.

What I want to say is that I’m grateful to your Mothers and Sisters for having nursed you so well and shown you so much love. May our dear little saint love them more and more, because it is thanks to her that they remain so charitable towards us. We are also very upset by the death of our dear Father, the Bishop, but it is God who decides all things, and we must see His hand in everything. (From Thérèse) and Céline, who signs her name second and sends her darling Léonie a kiss,

Happy New Year to your dear Mother and to you!
