Darling little sister,

My feast day gift is not much, though it represents a lot of work and more importantly lots of affection for my dear little Léonie, my “companion in misfortune” of old.

And this gift is the little photo album of the Pavilion, which you will find among the other presents. There are several shots that aren’t very good whereas some have turned out beautifully. Nevertheless I hope that pilgrims will like this little keepsake.

We have just celebrated our Mother’s feast day and still have much to do, or at least I do, because the building work on the Fleuriot property is taking up more and more of my time now that organising the garden has been added to the building worries. God gives me strength, but doesn’t relieve the indescribable tiredness I feel from the ups and downs of the building work. As for you, dear little sister, I hope your life is calmer. I don’t dare go as far as little Thérèse when she wished for mamma’s death and yet I know that death would be your upmost desire. Instead I wish you more love and self-surrender.

My Communion on the 29th will be for you, whom I love more than I can say. Your little sister
